Importantly there is a need to understand the consequences for themselves and their employer if they do not fulfill their obligations and adhere to the laws and regulations as a professional driver.

ADR HAZARDOUS GOODS

ADR Initial - Driver CPC All drivers of vehicles who wish to carry dangerous goods by road must be in possesion of a Vocational Training Certificate (VTC) that is valid for 5 years upon successful completion of examination set by the Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA)

ADR Initial - TANKER All drivers who wish to carry Hazardous Goods by Road in road tanker or tank containers must be in possesion of a Vocational Training Certificate issued by the DVLA after passing examinations set by the Scottish Qualification Authority.
An ADR course is run by covering the Core module, Packages module, UN Class modules, examinations and then the Tanker module. - ADR Explosives Class 1 Explosive
MANAGEMENT CPC (COMBINED)

National (Freight ) The EU Directive 96/26/EC now combines the National and International Freight syllabus in one examination/qualification. It is no longer possible to attain just a National CPC qualification.
The OCR will still be offering the International examination which will be open to persons who acquired the CPC National qualification after 2000 and before 3rd December 2011.
To gain you CPC you must pass the relevant CPC examinations. They are conducted four times per year at approved OCR examination centre.
To be awarded a combined National and International CPC you must attain the following:

- International (Freight) This qualification is offered on behalf of the Department of Transport. You will find it suitable if you wish to enter the profession of International Road Haulage Transport Management or demonstrate your professional competence to meet the Operator Licensing requirements. This qualification includes a range of subjects related to the business of International Road Haulage Transport Management. The areas specified in EU Directive 98.76/EC are assessed.
